Why Choose A Toyota Hybrid Over Other Brands?

Are you looking for a new hybrid car but can’t decide which one to get? Hybrid cars are excellent picks if you want an eco-friendly car that gets impressive fuel costs. Hybrid models have grown quite a bit in popularity over the years, with many options. However, you may be on the fence about which model is the best fit for you or what hybrid brand to get?

So, we’re here to fight for our Toyota hybrids, who are now in their fourth generation and have seen evolution through the years. It’s easy to note that Toyota’s are the best hybrid cars for their reliability and many other reasons. So, keep reading if you want to hear the evidence behind why you should choose a Toyota Hybrid. Hopefully, by the end of reading this, you’ll gain some clarity on your decision.

Why are Toyota hybrid cars the best bet?

Reason #1: Hybrid Synergy Drive

Toyota has its unique Hybrid technology called the Hybrid Synergy Drive. This unique special technology is located under the hood and is exclusively used in the Toyota and Lexus lineup. This system uses a gasoline engine and an electric motor interchangeably to give your car the most efficient performance. The gasoline and electric motor swap between each other, making it possible to power through each of them alone. In addition, the regenerative braking process helps the battery get the power it needs, creating a healthy operation for your Orlando Toyota.

Reason #2: Lower emissions, meaning a greener option

Toyota models produce fewer emissions than other models. Toyota hybrid models have saved 139 million tons of greenhouse-gas emissions worldwide already. So how is it the greener option, you may ask? Orlando Toyota Hybrids have unique technology for using gas that allows your Orlando Toyota to use its electric motor to power the car more often and efficiently. They also release the smallest amount of NOx, an exhaust mission harmful to the environment.

Reason #3: You’ll get a better quality hybrid

The Toyota Prius set records in its market by starting the trend and love for hybrid cars. The introduction has followed quite a lot of evolution and expertise in improving its quality through investment in research and development. Toyota has taken the opportunity to do everything it can to perfect its hybrid technology. Now, Toyota has a lineup filled with new hybrid models, electric cars, and hydrogen-fuelled cars.

Reason #4: The most variety

The Toyota hybrids have the most options compared to other car producers when it comes to hybrid cars. So whether you want an SUV, sedan, or even truck, Toyota has an eco-friendly option. From the Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV to the sporty Toyota Camry Hybrid, we have them all here at Toyota of Orlando.

Toyota of Orlando's Spring Break Road Safety Tips

Spring is officially here, so it's time to let loose and get our toes in the sand! It's spring break season, and that means we're hopping into our Orlando Toyota's and riding out to the nearest beaches. Unfortunately, with all of the fun and excitement of spring break, it also comes with long car rides and annoying traffic. Spring break also means a higher chance of reckless or intoxicated drivers on the road. Toyota of Orlando wants to help you stay safe on the road this spring break with car safety tips

Six Tips For Spring Break Road Safety

Tip #1 Check out the traffic before you embark on your road trip!

From time to time, you end up going on a route and getting stuck in stand-still traffic, which could've been completely avoided if you had checked your route beforehand. So, this is your reminder to use the features on your smartphone to help you navigate to your spring break destination in a timely manner.

Tip #2 Buckle up, or get up!

It can be easy to forget to buckle up with the excitement of spring break. However, this isn't something to slack off on. If you want to get to your destination safely, buckle up, it's that simple. In addition, Florida is a primary seat belt law state, so this means if someone in your car is caught not wearing a seatbelt, the driver will be faced with tickets and fees (that could easily be avoided). So if you're not buckled up, get up and out of the car!

Tip #3 Follow road rules.

You may race to get to your spring break destination and break the speed limits, run past stop signs, forget to use your turning signals, use your phone too much and swerve, etc. However, distracted driving is a fast way to get to your destination late. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Driver distraction is responsible for more than 58% of teen crashes. Make sure to drive safely by following road rules in your Orlando Toyota.

Tip #4 Keep a healthy distance in front of you.

When you're driving to your spring break vacation in your Orlando Toyota, keep a healthy distance from the car in front of you. This will help you avoid future car accidents and allow for a smooth ride (especially if you're going to the beach, it's nice to take in all of the views).

Tip #5 Don't drink and drive and always be on the lookout for drunk drivers.

Spring break is a good time to enjoy yourself. You may have a drink or a couple, or maybe not! Whatever the case, beware of drunk drivers, and don't be one yourself! Drive safely in your Orlando Toyota for you and the other people on the road.

Tip #6 Get your car maintenance beforehand.

You have to make sure your car is ready for spring break too with a maintenance checklist! Make your car into our Orlando Toyota Maintenance center to check your tires, battery, brakes, oil, wiper fluid, coolant, and your A/C system to ensure a safe trip there and back.

What You Should Do If Your Car Runs Out of Gas

You might try to take your chances when it comes to refilling your gas tank. Gas can be expensive and going to the gas station is inconvenient at times. However, the risk could end in you finding yourself dragging your Orlando Toyota to the side of the road on an empty gas tank. So, you might be asking yourself, how did I get here? Well, here at Toyota of Orlando will give you the best tips on how to know when your car is about to run out of gas and what you should do in the roadside emergency of running out of gas.

Four signs your car is about to run out of gas

Keep these signs in mind when your car is running out of gas!

  • Sputtering noises coming from the engine.

  • Backfiring noises coming from the tailpipe.

  • The sound of your car accelerating in a jerking manner.

  • Lack of power or acceleration when you hit the gas.

If you notice any of these signs, it's time to hit the nearest gas station up immediately. Now, let's say you don't make it to the gas station. What do you do?

What to do if you run out of gas on the road

You might find yourself in this situation if you have a broken gas gauge or forget to fill up your tank. Unfortunately, you are in this situation, but our experts will give you the best tips to make sure you're safe at the end of the day.

Step #1 Pull off the road and away from traffic

If you can, get your Orlando Toyota and book it to the side of the road. Find yourself a safe spot to pull over and park. You want to ensure that you're a reasonable distance away from traffic, especially on the highway. If it's nighttime, grab your emergency flashlight and get yourself to the nearest well-lit space.

Once you're parked, pull your emergency brake, turn on your hazard lights, and turn your steering wheels away from the road.

Step #2 Figure out your exact location

You will need some roadside assistance, so before making that call, figure out where you are before making the call! If you're calling a family member or friend, you can simply use your smartphone's share location feature. If not, you can use the addresses of local businesses and street names to figure out where you are precise.

Step #3 Who to call

If you don't know who to call to get you out of this, or maybe you don't have a family member or friend nearby to bring you a gas can of fuel, you can opt for roadside assistance. AAA offers fuel delivery, but you may want to check with your car insurance for other options. If you don't have telephone service, your best of luck is to walk to a gas station for fuel. However, make sure to stick to sidewalks as much as you can.

Do you really need to get a full oil change?

An oil change is a service that every car owner comes into contact with. Hence it’s the most popular service for your Orlando Toyota. However, it can be annoying to take your Orlando Toyota every couple of months for an oil change because of the time and money. You may be tempted to go and give your car an oil change by just pouring in oil.

Today, our tech experts will explain to you the reasons why you can’t just top off your engine oil with more oil when it runs out. And why getting an oil change is one of the best services you can get for your Orlando Toyota’s engine.

Instead of changing it, can you pour more oil into your engine?

This is a question that car owners may ask themselves a lot. But, unfortunately, the answer is no. You can’t just pour more oil into your engine compartment on top of the old oil. We’re going to give you the reasons why.

  • Adding oil into your engine will give you the proper level of oil needed, so you won’t have to worry about your engine running out. However, what you want from your Orlando Toyota is the proper circulation of the oil to keep your Orlando Toyota engine running in its best condition.

  • When oil circulates through your Orlando Toyota engine, it picks up dirt and debris over time. It can change the consistency since it’s exposed to high heat levels. This consistency can cause the flow not to be as smooth. It can lead to black sludge in your engine.

  • So when you don’t entirely change out of oil (including the dirt and debris), you cause the chance that black sludge builds up and you cause damage to your engine.

  • Dirty motor oil can cause issues for your Orlando Toyota, including piston rings, cylinder head valve guides, or an oil leak. Your engine could overheat and seize up.

  • If you don’t take the time to change your oil entirely, you could end up costing yourself more money in the long run. The repairs that could happen due to the wrong way of placing your oil are ultimately not worth the costly repairs.

Benefits of an Oil Change

Oil changes are one of the most common services in our service center. Here are some of the benefits of an oil change.

  • Better performance for your Orlando Toyota

  • Better fuel efficiency

  • Long-lasting life for your Orlando Toyota engine

  • Improved engine efficiency

  • Good emissions test

  • Eco-friendly as consistent oil changes decrease releases of gas.

Need an oil change? Schedule one today at Toyota of Orlando service center!

How To Deal With An Out-Of-State Car Accident

Driving is a huge responsibility. As a driver, you are constantly doing your best to look out for those around you and your passengers. So if you ever get into a car accident, it may have happened in a brief moment, and now you have a lot of figuring out to do on your shoulders. Then, to make matters more complicated, when it happens when you're in another state for work or vacation, you might have to deal with out-of-state differences.

Here at Toyota of Orlando, we want to give you the tools so that if you ever run into this situation, you can handle it in the least stressful way possible. So today, our experts will guide you on how to get through it in the least stressful way possible.

What to do when you get into an out-of-state car accident?

Step #1 Check on your passengers.

Safety is first, and you may be in shock at the moment of the accident. So, go ahead and check to see that everyone in the car is ok, including yourself. If anyone is injured, call an ambulance immediately. Then, try to move your Orlando Toyota to the side of the road or move every passenger to the side.

Step #2 Call the police for police documentation.

It's crucial to get police documentation of the car accident to provide to your car insurance company (regardless of who's at fault, it was at the scene). Go ahead and call 911 or the local non-emergency number to request an officer to be sent to the location of the car accident. You can discuss what happened and give a copy of the accident report, along with the police officer's name.

Step #3 Document everything possible.

When you are at the scene, make sure to take as many photos and videos as possible for evidence purposes. Do not only take footage of your Orlando Toyota car but the other car/cars involved. You also will want to write down everything that happened as it will be fresh from your memory. Make sure to talk to the other people involved in the accident and get their name, insurance, contact information, and the model, color, and license plate number of any other vehicles involved.

Step #4 Figure out how you will make it home.

If this is your Orlando Toyota car that was involved in the car accident, you will have to determine whether the damages will sustain making the drive home. If your Orlando Toyota car is sending you signals that something is wrong, you should take it to the nearest mechanic, but if it was a fender bender, you should be able to make it back to your hometown.

Step #5 Contact your insurance company

You must contact your insurance companies to ensure that you can get the repair process started. For example, if it were a rental car, you would contact the rental company about the accident and go from there. If it were someone else's Orlando Toyota car, you would want to get the vehicle owner to handle other parts.
